Suddenly Republicans are all over Trump for his bigotry. Even Dick Cheney. I am not buying it. Where were they when Trump was lying about Obama's birth place? Where were they when Trump was calling Mexicans rapists? Republicans, you made him. You own him. You fix it. And by that I mean no longer giving him a platform to spew his hatred and stating publicly that if Trump wins the Republican nomination you will not support him. If that splits your party, so be it. This is not negotiable. Trump is unAmerican. He does not deserve any succor from an American political party.

(14,177 posts)As far as I am concerned that party died in 2009 when all the sudden they all became doves. Sure I was happy to see them fall all over themselves in denouncing the war in Iraq because there was a new CIC in town. But, at the same time after 8 years of chicken hawk squawking it was nauseating.

He's a very useful tool for them.
Emphasis on tool.
