4. The OP was complaining about "less than lethal"

measures that police were taking to deal with problems. I would rather the police leverage technology to find such means and avoid all shootings. Just like sending in a robot to deal with a pipe bomb, a drone which could take down (without killing) a perp would be an ideal from my point of view.

The Drone-War has shown that not engaging the suspect face-to-face makes it mentally easier to resort to violence.

Just imagine a cop watching a suspect on a screen and repeatedly hammering the "tase"-button. Or the "pepperspray"-button. Or the "beanbag"-button. Or the "blind"-button. Or the "deafen"-button.
