I think Farook & wife intended to kill co-workers then return to the site like nothing happened

"OMG! Whaaat? No Way! I left for lunch and this happened? Noooo! OMG! Is everybody okay? ...No? OMG!"

Once you consider that

1. His co-workers threw a baby shower for them awhile ago (which means they were on good terms)

2. It happened just before lunch/break time (Perfect alibi)

3. They wore masks (They didn't intend on anyone finding out who they were)

4. They got caught trying to return home (Why would they try to return home instead of committing other attacks or trying to flee?)

Its just a theory but I think its very possible Fafool was trying to do this but never factored in that people would notice that he left just before the shooting and witnesses would see the car he left in.

Hard to imagine a man and his wife planning this. They must have been half in a religious fervor for months. A modern Bonnie and Clyde

later, they will put two and two together and start remembering weird things about him. People can compartmentalize their lives, but they can't compartmentalize them completely. Ted Bundy only seemed normal on the surface. The crazy was always there, and you could see it if you looked past the superficial charm.

Farook was very religious according to a family member. He went to Saudi Arabia to get a wife which indicates that he wanted a very Muslim wife possibly (not definitely but very likely), and then he shot people who were at a Christmas party. Christmas parties are not religious events in places like the center in which he worked, but there is a certain religious link with attending a Christmas party.

None of this means he was a religious fanatic shooting at people because they weren't of his religion, but it makes that a strong possibility.

The details will emerge.

It's very odd to me that something of this nature would happen in San Bernardino County. It would be more likely in Los Angeles or a more metropolitan area, I should think. But what do I know. San Bernardino is not a rural area but it is not a major urban area either. Very strange.

That would explain the selection of the site. Bringing his religion and recent trip to Saudi Arabia into it is just wild speculation. Why not speculate about his favorite flavor of ice cream?

in a case like this speculation only leads to rumors. And rumors lead to disinformation. Let's not and keep our heads about us.

6. The report I read said they told grandma they were planning on going to the dentist

The deceased female suspect has been identified as Tashfeen Malik, 27. She and Farook were married for two years.. The two had a 6-month-old baby daughter. KCAL9’s Elsa Ramon said the pair dropped the baby off to a grandparent and said they had a dentist appointment.

It seems like everything they did from the initial stage was meant to create an alibi and conceal their own identities.

The masks, dropping the baby off then saying that they were going to the dentist, leaving work around lunch time, trying to return home, not attacking other locations.

You would think that if they intended for this to be a one way deal, they would just show up at his worksite unmasked, kill as many people as possible until law enforcement showed up, or leave, attack another location and die in a shootout with law enforcement.

dressed in their 'outfits'. That is when the police intercepted them. They were out to kill.

14. Correct...the OP has the sequence wrong

They returned home, and stayed there for some time - longer than lunch break time, hours.

Then they got fully suited up and grabbed all their guns, and got into the SUV. Since the police had been told it may be this guy Farouk (due to the conflict prior to the shooting), they were literally at his house as the two drove off. We very well could have been spared a second devastating attack by that tip and the police's quick action.

The other fly in the OPs ointment is that Farouk apparently got into some jabber with people inside the building before returning guns ablaze, so that doesn't support the "Let's do this on the sly" theory either, unless he's massively undisciplined, which is, of course, possible. It was the initial conflict that drew attention and led to the tip to watch his house, in any case.

Agreed they were out to kill when they left that house the second time. They were not returning to the workplace like "Oh, what happened?"

Which is why they also rented an SUV.
