No, I don't hate Muslims, yes I can seperate the value of a person from their belief system, no I don't think I can judge people's level of adherence to their religion from what they look like, no I don't think all refugees are the same thing as terrorists, yes the destruction of their land and the babaric treatment of their people is a causative factor, no I don't excuse our behaviour, yes it's heartbreaking that Muslims all over the West now feel frightened that they're going to be blamed for something that isn't their fault.

No, I don't think religion is somehow inherently bad.
No, I don't think there's anything inherently valuable about Islam.

Why is Islamic culture more violent? Look at the sociological factors.

Most of us live in the U.S., so most people around us are Christian, and probably middle-class, or somewhat affluent. We're in a stable, at least somewhat profitable society, where most of us can put a roof over their heads and live like normal people. That gives you some luxuries, like having some liberty to think for yourself.

Look at much of the Muslim world - poor, lots of unemployment, lots of desperate young people looking for The Answer to their problems, and Daesh comes and offers to serve it up on a plate.

I'm an atheist, and I'll say that being an atheist is a bit of a luxury. If you're starving, or sick all the time, or have to deal with thugs attacking you at any possible time, chances are good you'll turn to religion for comfort.

So more people are desperate, turn to religion, and thus poor, unstable societies get caught up in more of the batshittery that natually comes out of religion.

Look at the Muslims that come to the U.S. Sure, there may be an occasional asshole, but 99.999% of them settle down, get jobs, raise families, and turn out to be chill nice people. They're living here, in a more stable, affluent society, so they don't have to turn to madmen with magic books for comfort so much, so they're chill. Sure they practice Islam, but American Islam is like American Christianity - toned down, though with some exceptions.

What happens when Christianity is in a place of poverty and desperation? Look at Africa. The Christians down there are fucking batshit. They hunt witches. They demand to put GLBT people to death. They turn to psychopaths like Joseph Kony. They treat women like shit.

And assholes like Kevin Swanson and Pat Robertson spend lots of time down there stirring the shit. It's profitable for them. They're always sending missionaries, because first-world countries will only let them get away with so much fucknuttery. But in Africa, and in the Third World, batshit is a growth industry.

There you have it. Why is Islam more violent and fucked up? Because more Muslims live in hellholes, and psychopathic religious leaders exploit that fact. That's why Daesh has gotten as far as it has, and they've gone so completely apeshit that it's impossible to share the planet with them. I'm sorry, but Daesh needs to be fucking exterminated. There's nothing for it.
