I may be going offline shortly or not after Friday

Our longtime ISP is closing up shop and the alternatives are not good here. After looking at the reviews for Cable One, most all advised "run away, run away!" Century Link, formerly Qwest, formerly US West, doesn't sound much better with strong-arm marketing and poor customer service. It seems many people these days are forgoing the traditional ISP & PC in favor of Smartphone only for their internet needs. Money is a strong factor for us these days and I just don't see that happening.

It may be time to put Linux Mint on the old laptop (Vista) and plan on a periodic trip to the library for access.

DSL really isn't that bad, even with slow speeds. Sure you might be able to stream if you have 1mb, but it is ok for just surfing.
