tell us why that conference was also just a big mistake? If you are going to start OP's that suggest those who are critics are 'truthers' you really need to be ready to talk about AIDS in Africa. This stuff is by no means a joke.
What really angers me is that so many here in the US say 'oh, who cares about the contraception teachings, we all use birth control and just ignore the Pope' without ever thinking of the poor and uneducated people in other countries who are deprived of sexual and health education and the means to protect themselves from HIV because of those teachings. Pretending this is a lark is twisted.

Uganda- 44% Catholic, just 13% say they have used a condom at least once. 7.2% of the population has HIV, there is no way to count the orphans. Uganda has one tenth the population of the US and more than ten times the AIDS deaths, over 60,000 a year.
Uganda and the Bishops there are famous for intense focus on anti gay actions and laws. Not on the massive death among heterosexual Africans.
Francis talks about threats to the family. HIV is a huge threat to the family. Ask the orphans.
This is not rhetorical fun time.
It is not critics of the Pope who are being less than honest.
His Promoters really really need to address their views on AIDS in Africa and condoms. If you are going to go with 'truthers' you need to own your own truth, fully and without the aid of bullshit.

The OP is a bemused look at the histrionics on display that shifts every time a new tidbit about Popeghazi emerges. That stuff has, by all means, become a joke.

Which is a much different matter than the November conference and the religious contraceptive policies in Uganda. Those are not a joke. Start another thread on it. You can keep the twenty bucks.

Your preacher talks about threats to the family. Ugandans have families that are destroyed in massive numbers for the sake of dogma. Your preacher is a self indulgent and reckless tongued man.

Affecting that others are not telling the whole truth when Francis is yapping about LGBT families while his own teachings result in millions of orphans is just more self indulgence.

People who don't point at LGBT and say 'devils' while telling poor people it's better to die than use a condom almost never have to explain that they were not meeting some anti gay activist over their mutual anti gay activism but due to some hapless error. What I am talking about IS what your OP is about.
