Gas prices in Washington and Oregon could rise as much as 35 cents per gallon by the end of the weekend due to tight supplies that are boosting prices, an industry analyst said Wednesday. That could push the average price for unleaded to $4.59 in Washington and $4.56 in Oregon by Sunday.
"I expect stations to increase prices as much as 10-35 cents per gallon by the conclusion of the weekend with some stations starting to raise prices immediately," said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst.
Gasbuddy says wholesale gasoline prices, the price stations pay before taxes and freight charges, is at its highest level ever recorded for the Pacific Northwest.
Maintenance MY ASS..... These Bastards know when they are going to shut refinery's down. There is no need to have these spikes when they could just adjust the price at the beginning of the year.... this is nothing but legalized PRICE GOUGING.

(32,059 posts)But I'm happy I filled up Sunday. I'm in Texas so it's lower, but with my .60 a gallon discount from Kroger I paid $2.88/gallon. I just drive my kids around so hopefully that'll last at least another week.

(32,675 posts)Never buying anything except fuel at a gas station. No hot dogs, pop, smokes or candy bars. It helps to lower the price if you only buy a gallon or 2 at a time until the price drops, then fill up. If an independent station is a penny cheaper, buy it there.
I worked the last year at a gas station and I know how to hurt em. They make a lot of money off store sales and working the help to death.
