Here's the real reason for the hostility towards showing his face . . . such people believe that liberals have a duty to de-emphasize the race of the perp if they are black because:

1) Acknowledging such crimes lends credence to RW arguments
2) Portraying a black person as a perpetrator and not a victim conflicts with the white liberal narrative about blacks

That's the honest truth. It's not pretty, but there it is. Personally, I have no problem with showing the perp, no matter who he/she is. If you're a murdering asshole, I really don't care what color you are. All I care about is that you're a murdering asshole.
