Prez and Veep?

Was sitting here thinking about potential running mates for the various candidates, and arrived at that place requiring consideration of worst possible scenarios. Some weird cataclysmic paroxysm on the other side of the aisle could produce the nightmarish nomination of Donald Trump.

The thought occurs that he could conceivably set a new model for the presidency. His ego is yuge enough to serve as his own vice president, therefore saving himself the trouble of having to choose a compatible running mate. That arrangement would be admittedly less contentious than having the position occupied by Palin, and significantly less entertaining than, say, Gohmert. But the budget for White House mirrors would be frightening.

And this is what happens when I have insomnia two nights in a row...

Kasich / Thune. Two GOP candidates that act like moderates, but are very rightist. They can make the Midwest very competitive. Kasich / Rubio as well.

I think whoever the Dems pick will be president.
But IMO the Dems should go to the left in their choice of candidate.
The Dems have to fight the election on issues and the left has the winning arguments.

"I want to lead us into a warm purple space" isn't a winning argument. It really isn't.
