Walter Palmer's extradition was being sought so that he could "be held accountable for his illegal action," she said.
Mr Palmer, from Minnesota, is believed to have paid about $50,000 (£32,000) to hunt the lion, known as Cecil.
He says he thought the hunt was legal and was unaware Cecil was protected.

Nothing ever happens to those sick rich fucks. They have too much money to ever be held up to the law.
I can only hope he won't hurt any more animals from now on.
RIP Cecil

(652 posts)Palmer is a piece of shit. That's self evident. What will be harder to prove is that he knew the lion was protected when he killed it. The fact that he tried to destroy the collar and never reported the "mistaken" kill to authorities helps to support the case he's guilty. I'm not sure they completely have him by the balls, however, unless they can squeeze one of these other guys to sing.

(50,269 posts)Yesterday I was driving down the main drag of a southern Vermont town and came up behind a big, gas guzzling, black SUV with Minnesota plates. It was a low number plate with "DT" off to the side. My first thought was the asshole dentist. I couldn't see through the windows because they were tinted. He turned off into a neighborhood of expensive homes. If I hadn't been in a hurry I might have followed the thing to see who got out of it. It bothered me so much I looked into a phone book to see if anyone with his last name lived in that neighborhood. There weren't any, fyi. I realize the chances are one in a kazillion, but you never know.

I do believe there are specialists who are really good at tracking people.

(17,086 posts)It's all well and good to call for his extradition (I signed a petition myself), but our hands are literally tied until he is charged with a crime. We don't just exile people based on popular opinion.
pshaw....who needs to follow the laws when there is a good amount of outrage built up.
i agree but 1st: charge him, indict him, present the US government with an request for extradition, let him have his day to contest/challenge the extradition request and when he loses hand him over.

(725 posts)But the big brave lion killer is still in hiding.
He's scared to go home.
Hope he stays scared the rest of his life.
He should dream he is wounded and being chased by lions forever.
