Hahaha - I was blocked from the Bernie Sanders DU discussion group. Really!

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by DonViejo (a host of the General Discussion forum).

I have never posted in the Bernie forum. I've never even looked at it. I've been a member of DU for over 10 years, but rarely post. I usually look at the front page, to see what topics are trending. My posts usually respond to threads or comments that seem clueless to me, or display a lack of understanding of our political system (Obama should have impeached Bush, etc)

You have been blocked from posting in the Bernie Sanders group by L0oniX. If you believe this is an error, you may contact L0oniX for more information.

Way to build a bridge, guys! Maybe the Bernie group only wants an echo chamber, where they can pat themselves on back, and talk about how they're actually winning the race now. I really wouldn't know.

DU typically has a big "purity" problem (not unlike the Tea Party vs. the GOP, actually) where the loudest and most enthusiastic members ruin the board with over-the-top nonsense about how the Democratic party is going to hell, and so on. I fondly recall the tears and wailing when Al Franken was running for Senate (he's not liberal enough!!!!) or when Sherrod Brown was running against Paul Rieckhoff, what a epic catastrophe it would be that Sherrod Brown might win. Turns out that Franken and Brown are two of the most liberal Senators we have, despite the histrionics on DU.

I really like Senator Sanders, but there is a certain amount of over-the-top bullshit about him on DU, and even though I will vote for him in the primary and I hope he wins, I can't help but think about how much schadenfraude there will be, if Bernie crashes and berns.

And if Bernie DOES win, and then "governs from the center" (because every president becomes more centrist after taking office, out of necessity) I can't imagine how badly the "Delusional Wing" of the Sandernistas will react.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't be welcome in a protected group for Sanders supporters.

IBTL.

and I avoid GD-P like the plague it is meant to be. DU is a much saner place that way.

I don't know if any of the personality forums have blocked me. I wouldn't be terribly offended if they had, I know I'd say something offensive to all of them sooner or later.
