Why Joe Biden is my favorite politician:

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2015/07/02/joe_biden_read_the_vice_president_s_inspiring_note_to_a_young_boy_with_a.html

His 1994 letter to an eighth grader:

The full letter reads:

Dear Brandon—

It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday. You are a fine, bright young man with a great future ahead of you if you continue to work hard. Remember what I told you about stuttering. You can beat it just like I did. When you do, you will be a stronger man for having won. Also remember, every time you are tempted to make fun of someone with a problem, how it feels when you are made fun of. Treat everyone with respect and you will be respected yourself.
Your friend,

Joe Biden.

...and the result:

On Wednesday, Brooks posted a picture of the note to Twitter, writing that the letter still inspires him even two decades later. Biden responded to Brooks’ tweet an hour later with the words, “And it’s still true today, my friend.” In response to that, Brooks posted a second photo—this time of himself as an adult, being sworn in as a prosecutor by Biden’s son Beau Biden. “Took your advice to heart,” Brooks wrote to the VP.

On edit: the swearing in:

Not my favorite but I respect and appreciate truth from officials. He also hasn't accumulated huge gobs of money in his decades of service so that indicates honest dealings.

Vice President Joe Biden told Field & Stream magazine in an interview published Monday, "[if] you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door."

Earlier this month, Biden told an interviewer that he had advised his wife, Jill, "if there's ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out and put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house."

Neither of those things are legal but I support his position on it.

Says, that he really did grow up dirt poor, and if not for their other friends mother, feeding him all the way through college, he probably would have starved to death.

He's definitely the guy you'd want to have a beer with. Quite a few beers!

He IS a world class bullshitter, and a very likeable guy. But, I'm still voting for Bernie.
