It was only a matter of time. But so soon?
Pray for us.

(53,339 posts)Expecting another bad fire season this year. And I just saw on local news in L.A. that Anaheim, CA is allowing sale and use of fireworks in the city for the first time in 29 years. The largest fireworks stand in the state has already opened there.

(20,584 posts)and get out if you have to. I just wish the governor would ban fireworks this year. Everything is so dry and those things could cause even more fires.
I really hope you and yours are going to be safe.

(53,339 posts)Voters in Anaheim, CA banned sale and use of fireworks 29 years ago after a major fire caused by fireworks. This year, in the midst of an extremely dangerous fire season, the city ended the ban. Sales have begun for the Fourth, and they're going like hotcakes.

(8,705 posts)I work on an incident management team here in WA...you have some good friends of mine heading your way to help Wenatchee out and knock that fire down.
Stay safe and stay cool.

(3,041 posts)The story says the Wal-Mart is being evacuated... Good. I hope it burns down, Wal-Mart doesn't belong in the Wenatchee I remember.

(24,740 posts)Well, 28 homes +/- gone. We just had a "shelter in place" ammonia leak. Scariest thing I've gone through, though I am personally well out of the area.
Things still dynamic.
These events do bring communities together...
