Serious lag time on DU...anyone else?????

which has worked well for me, including last night.

11. TAA-TPA may be causing lag times

I don't know for sure, but that issue is probably drawing a lot of folks to this site, so maybe that's why it is running slow.

edited: It has NOT been running slow for me today nor in the past week.

However, I find on mobile it to be faster than my desktop. This is the ONLY site where that holds true. Are you using AdBlock? I think that might be the reason? I am not sure - I have 100Mbps connection to my desktop but if I use my phone, even on 3G, it is arguably faster. I find this mainly true when opening large threads - perhaps the image loading from external sites etc. is the cause? Or are you seeing it slow even on small threads?

30. Adblock actually seems to have sped things up, been using for years.

Tis better now, was horribly slow for past 3 days and esp. this am.

I'm DSL so have slow connection anyway, these days, but, "DU" has been almost impossible to reload in reading a thread and I've lost connection with it entirely a few times. Other sites have come up okay as usual.

Threads over 25 post and longer. The longer the thread the longer the wait.
Several minutes sometimes. Only on DU.
If I click on something I know is short (video thread, for example), during this time, it pops right up.
My Linux machine, everything pops right up, seldom any delays on anything, no matter how long the thread.
I have shut down my firewall, virus protection (Bitdefender), Malwarebytes and a few other items that might slow thing down and no change.

But it gets super-slow every single afternoon. I'll click on a tab and it just runs and runs. It's been like that for at least a year now.

And DU is the only site that gets hang when I direct my browser to it. All other sites? Bang, instant connection. DU? Almost always more than 5 seconds to get in. And I get hang when I go back and forth between threads in any forum, too.

So much for the blazing speed of FiOS.

DU is always the slowest to load out of any site I visit, but lately, it has actually gotten worse, almost impossible at times.
