We Are People for Bernie

Franklin D. Roosevelt called out the economic royalists of his day. Senator Sanders is picking up the banner. He answers to We the People and not to the corporate and financial sectors. Bernie brings the kind of leadership that is necessary to building a real, living democracy.
The authors of this letter are veteran grassroots organizers of Occupy Wall Street, and are joined by many energized brothers and sisters we have met along the way. In September 2011, our efforts changed the narrative of American politics, helping to focus it on the issues of our time: inequality, surrender to the power of concentrated wealth, the corruption of our democracy by moneyed interests, and the need for solutions as radical as our problems.

(41,221 posts)Like Occupy, Spain's INDIGNADOS occupied the streets of Spain for mass protests against austerity, inequality and corruption since 2011. In May, 2015 the Indignados movement assisted the election of two new Populist Mayors- Ada Colau in Barcelona, and Manuela Carmena in Madrid. Populist, progressive movements are rising and making change happen around the world.

(363 posts)Bernie needs minorities to endorse him. President Obama did not pull ahead of Mrs. clinton until the black community joined white anti-war democrats in 2008.

But his campaign is mutually exclusive in style and substance.

To do so, gives what the people want priority
Let's see

(1,537 posts)The big question is whether he can get the votes of moderate Dems (a much vilified group here on DU, which leads me to wonder if the answer might be "no" .
Nobody can win a national election without a broad constituency.

(1,253 posts)I knew you could! My wife is a teacher and liked HRC before her 2008 shenanigans. She's as moderate as they come and she LOVES what she's hearing from Sanders so your "concern" is unwarranted. Rest easy on you feinting couch...

(11,197 posts)"moderate" Dems won't ever support Sanders, so the only option left is for progressives to acquiesce to the "moderate" candidate, aka Hillary, as per the usual. OK, got it.
