Both my country of birth (the US) and my "adoptive" country (South Korea) will have elections within weeks of each other. It might be interesting to see if there is any effect on the Korean election.
France and Greece this month
Serbia and Syria fairly soon (not sure when)
Russia happened earlier in the year
Israel, South Korea and the US later this fall.

(22,000 posts)It's very doubtful though the liberals in South Korea will get behind a single candidate which means we may have another winger for President (the dictator's daughter Park, which makes it even worse) for another 5 years. I've decided this time since I have a visa which doesn't prevent me from being involved politically that I'm going to try to find a candidate to support and work for.

(22,000 posts)It looks like they have failed to form a government. The next person down the line gets a shot, then the current President will meet with all of the party leaders to see if something can be worked out. If not, they will have another election next month.
Like that's really going to change things!
