I keep hearing "tolerant" in regards to the attitude taken by various people or groups when speaking about gay folks.

Do you gay folks want to be tolerated?





If someone said that to me I would want to punch them...

The legal removal of millions of names from the registration list also, in some states, mean those people cannot vote in 2016. If something isn't done to fix that, they'll remove millions more before election day

32. Just thinking about that word yesterday, and not for the first time. i think it was huge mistake to

incorporate the word/term "Tolerate" into the lexicon of "liberals"/progressives to define acceptance of equality and "diversity" . I've detested this word since it entered the lexicon of "progressiveness" I've never understood how it was allowed to survive this long.

The definition of "tolerate" has very negative connotation, correctly so. To "tolerate" is to imply putting up with bad or unacceptable behavior.

It had and still has no business being the word of choice. I really hope this word is put to rest with regard to all reference to equal rights & equal protection.

I am someone who does not believe in tolerance. I believe in equality and freedom from religious fanaticism which imposes their bigotry on my life and those I love with the intention of stripping me and my loved ones of our rights.

Let's agree to disabuse our community of this term once and for all, shall we? What say ye?
