Jon Stewart puts clips from Fox News and a parade of right wing guests (with books to sell) in front of a left-leaning audience. That's it. He is not a politician.

He's three times as smart as anyone currently in the senate and he's honest besides.

We should be so lucky.

5. What experience does he have advocating for policy issues? Or managing constituent issues?

I tend to find "he says things I like to hear" is a pretty low bar.

...including development of the Clinton Health Care initiative. So, I'm going to say she was more prepared on both items than Stewart.

The better analogy would have been Al Franken, but he effectively transitioned from a Humorist who talked about politics to a political commentator (via Air America) who used humor.

Never in a million years. Jon has done his bit to combat the Forces of Darkness, and yet, as he has said himself, Fox News is still here. If he is tired of trying to push that boulder up the hill, how likely do you think it is he will get deeper in the political arena? No way. There is not enough money in the world.

To him I say: Thanks for all the laughs, and thanks for being a beacon of sanity during Darkest BushCheney. Now get some rest and do something else that you enjoy.

As much as we all enjoy Jon's work and making broad speculation, I personally think he's got other things on his mind.

Just had the passing thought given recent events, but who knows a few years down the road.
