That didn't take long: Owner of Indiana pizzeria that won’t cater gay weddings

tells conservative host they may close business

The owners of the small pizzeria in Indiana, which has become ground zero in the debate over Indiana’s controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act, have temporarily closed the business, telling a conservative radio host that they may shut down for good.

Memories Pizza in tiny Walkerton was thrown into the harsh national spotlight after one of the owners told a local news station that they agree with the RFRA and, as a Christian establishment, would refuse to provide pizzas for gay weddings.

In an interview with The Blaze’s Dana Loesch, co-owner Crystal O’Connor said they have not opened their doors since the controversy began.

“How long do you think — will you reopen them? How long do you think it will take for .. for you to get to that point?” Loesch asked.

“I don’t know if we will reopen or if we can, “O’Connor replied.

“You had said as well before that you, I mean, that your family is considering leaving. Like leaving town, like leaving Indiana because of all of this,” Loesch asked with O’Conner replying, “Yeah.”

A bunch of dumb-asses have raised over $30,000 so far to support someone who likely has more money than most of them do. I guess they showed us....

It's amazing what people will waste their money on.

to get some free advertisement and business from like-minded bigots. Now that I see the gofundme campaign, I'm even more suspicious.

Not cool. I wish they could have been educated and changed their views. Without that happening, I am not sorry to see them close up shop. But threats of violence are not ok.

First off, how many people getting married are going to serve pizza at the reception?
Second, out of that group, how many of them are going to be homosexual?
Third, and how likely will these hypothetical pizza-craving, soon-to-be-wed homosexuals are going to choose them from all other pizza places?

If the probability of this situation isn't zero, it's damn near close.

So these idiots, who probably on some level had in their mind how many (0) receptions they've catered, used their business as a platform to showcase their bigotry, essentially for nothing but to let everyone know that they're on God's side, by gum, and they need to show that off to the world.

Good job.

Why go on television and announce your plans not to serve, of all things, pizza at a gay couple's wedding?

They admit they haven't even been open since this came out, and yet they are talking about closing their doors and moving out of state. A bit soon, I think.

I would really be interested to know who started the GoFundMe account. Could have even been a family member.

On edit: It was a contributor to the "The Blade".

Already on shaky ground they say some asinine things, get threats made by people who will never even come to their state and then whine to the media and beg for money.

Brilliant. Sick, twisted and assholes, but still brilliant.

They are not staying open and FIGHTING to promote their view of things? Not fighting to be bigoted and Anti-LGBTQ? You mean they are running away from a fight, that they have already seemed to have won in Indiana? That's rather pathetic of them...

But then Republicans really are cowards. Why isn't Sean Hannity and Fox News not reporting from their door step, saying they now have the right to be Bigoted so leave them alone!!

Seriously...
Bigoted people disgust me.

I doubt their pizzeria ever did as well as that. The question is, how long can they keep panhandling the like-minded? I can't feel too sad for their "persecution," ... but arson threats? Not cool.
