I remember in 1992, when Colorado idiotically passed Amendment 2 which that would have prevented any city, town, or county in the state from taking any legislative, executive, or judicial action to recognize homosexuals as a protected class.
Boycotts did follow, I remember reading stories of people dumping Celestial Seasoning teas (the HQ being in very liberal Boulder, CO), and cancelling skiing plans, etc. The Court dkd place a halt on Amendment 2, and eventually ruled unconstitutional in 1996 by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The wounds are still there, but at least Colorado started being more progressive and led the way to some changes, which included acceptance of equality for all.
States can change, it just needs the people to change what's within the state. If that law is bad, HUGE amount of pressure will be applied to Indiana and forcing the courts to save their asses (but fucking up along the way, I'm pretty sure).
However, if USSC rules that equality must be respected to include the LGBT community, then their anti-gay law will be illegal, and forced to be taken down.
As a result, Indiana will certainly begin turning blue as soon as the mental help is finally given for those who are truly insane.
I blame Reagan.

(4,876 posts)Sure we have legal weed, but we also elected Corey Gardner and recalled 2 State Senators because they wanted to pass a background check for guns. (in a state that has had 2 horrible mass shootings..)
At times I think we are both the most liberal and the most conservative state in the union.
