When theres a situation as fluid as whats going down in Beijing between the Obama administration and the Chinese government over blind attorney Chen Guangcheng, its best for those not directly involved to sit back and watch. This is especially so of those running to unseat the sitting president. But Mitt Romney just couldnt hold his tongue.
Weve heard some disturbing things from across the world that suggest that, potentially, if the reports are true, some very troubling developments there, Mr. Romney said, according to a report in the New York Times. If these reports are true, this is a dark day for freedom and its a day of shame for the Obama administration. Missing from that statement is what exactly what Romney would do and how he planned to deal with the fallout from said action.
Seeming to fight for Chen was a messy move for Romney. But what it lacked in long-term thinking it made up for in short-term benefit. For it shifted the days conversation away from Romneys unwillingness to fight for Richard Grenell.

For my part, I doubt Romney even knew who Guangcheng was until four days ago. I can't find anything to show otherwise.

(89,248 posts)1. Romney is as stupid as Bush, he does this with very foreign policy related issue
comes out criticizing Obama but says nothing about what he would do.

Romney is hot to criticize but offers no clue as to what he would do.
I hope someone asks him that but I won't hold my breath.

(70,501 posts)3. Why is Romney even talking about a sensitive diplomatic problem w/ China?
Isn't our Sec. of State in China right now?
Mitt is the most awkward man in the world.
The proper response from any American leader would be to say "no comment" or defer to the State Department.
Politics stops at the water's edge.

We now know positively how President Obama would have been treated had the bin Laden mission failed.
