(81,443 posts)Why else would one be so gung-ho for war, for rattling sabers, for what seems like a pathological need to dominate, by force, and assert one's Alpha-ness? And be so staunchly in favor of the domination and subjugation of women. When there's THAT kind of drive, it makes one suspect there's an underlying attempt to overcompensate for something missing - or deficient in one way or other.

(22,666 posts)I was PISSED that they would lionize and glorify this asshole as they did. Simultaneously, NPR spent much of the week - EVERY time I turned it on - fanning the flames of the Hillary email "scandal". It's on my clock and car radio - I keep forgetting to find a new damn channel and I refuse to pay for Sirius or whatever.
Cotton - the Republican's latest Favorite Magnificent Turd - will swirl around nicely in the overflowing feces-filled, RW propaganda spewing toilet NPR has become. They're no better than Fox anymore.

(9,897 posts)Originally went with (nt) tag,. but then I realized this was my 2,000th DU post and could not spend the milestone on Cotton without further comment.
This guy and Ted Cruz and a few other bomb throwers are truly terrifying. They have never seen a war that would not be OK to use for killing other people's children or looting civilizations outside of 'murica. They all claim to "believe" some hard-core nonsense that is nothing more than convenient cover to hide behind laughing while the sheeple who love them lap is up.
I cannot do justice to the level of contempt and disgust that Cotton's picture brings to my stomach. I really wish the GOP HAD gone on the trip to Israel and ended up lost at sea in a plane crash where magically the flight crew was spared but the first class passenger cabin fell from 35,000 feet and had no survivors. Oh the humanity.

(9,148 posts)Yes you see the chilling look that I first did, without knowing anything about him other that a letter he signed.
The more I find out the colder & darker his eyes become.
There seems a side of a sociopath and he has that bottomless need for power & human life is worth nothing if it stands in his way.
I do not know any leader of a Country that carries the mark of evil that Tom Cotton carries within himself.
Be wary of what he does from here on.
And yes with the likes of Cruz at his side they need to be watched. Who they align themselves with.
For you 2000th post, you've brought awareness to some serious stuff to keep an eye on in the future

(135,425 posts)And I've known a few medal hounds in my day. I couldn't see wearing more than the top three except when absolutely necessary--those things wear out the uniforms. As for ring knockers and anyone who tries to play off their commission as an "I'm special" ticket, that's a dumbass thing to do, especially in a combat zone. Fragging isn't about Fraggle Rock, after all...if it says "Front Towards Enemy" it's time to run the other way and re-evaluate one's attitude!

(15,435 posts)attention, and that's what they want. BUT this idiot needs to be lambasted and plastered to a wall! I'm not sure if he's just trying to make a name for himself, or if he's being used by others behind the scene, but no matter... what he's doing is UN-AMERICAN!
I could make many more comments denigrating him, but I think ACTION is needed much more. I'm sure there's nothing I can do except to keep denouncing him, unfortunately too many people aren't paying attention!
I finally read Thom Hartmann's The Crash Of 2016 and think it should be required reading. Yes, it's about big money, but it's so much more. I've been around long enough that I can look back and see when this country started it's downward spiral. YES, we've had upheaval before and did survive a lot, but today there are millions and millions more people and far too many ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION!
I watch Free Speech TV most of the time or alternate shows and am thankful I can afford to pay for it, but it does eat into my small budget. Can't say I'm even middle class, but we're making it where so many others are getting trampled into the ground. And that ground is dry and crumbling and I'm not sure how much longer it will be until it caves in.
I wonder where he hides his whips!! Sorry, just had to add "one" more thing!

In 2013 Cotton introduced legislative language to punish relatives of those convicted of violating U.S. sanctions against Iran. According to Cotton, this would include "a spouse and any relative to the third degree," such as, "parents, children, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, grandparents, great grandparents, grandkids, great grandkids," [34] When Cotton's amendment came under harsh criticism, he withdrew it.

(10,597 posts)... this male chauvinist comes to the Senate in 2014, just in time for the uptick of the 2016 Gen Election, in which our country seems to be on the precipice of electing our first female President. What a coincidence. NOT! This letter to Iran business is his introduction to the country via the "librul'" M$M. I'm willing to bet that Tom Cotton will lead the Republican charge against Hillary Clinton from the moment she declares herself a candidate. Anyone game?

http://www.thecrimson.com/article/1997/10/3/promises-and-covenants-pmen-are-simple/
A few men can see this by themselves, and women are quite lucky to hook them. Ordinary women must not only defend these men against feminism, but also demand that all other men accept the lifelong nature of marriage. If not, one-half of all women who marry see their "greatest fear" come true. If so, they can have their "deepest hopes" fulfilled.
