Lawmakers leave town after rejecting Senate payroll tax cut extension

Rank-and-file lawmakers headed back to their districts Tuesday after the House rejected the Senate payroll tax extension bill and voted to set up a conference committee with the upper chamber.

Okay, I don't know why I'm even commenting on this kind of stupidity.

GWB would be on vacation right about now and now calling Congressional leaders over to resolve this.

Geez, McCain just gets more and more crankier.

The republicans are "losing this fight" and it's up to Obama to stop that.

The solution to GOP problems is for the democrats and Obama to fix them.

You sticking to that story McCain?

If the Republicans are losing this fight, why should the president call them? The Republicans can end all of this by passing the bill the Senate sent to them!

This is leadership...the president has already said what he wanted done, so now all that Boner has to do is to bring the Senate bill to the floor of the House for a vote...but Boner knows that he is nothing more then a figurehead, and that he has no control over his own caucus.

So, if he brings it up for a vote it'll be defeated and this time the Republicans will be on record as opposing a middle class tax cut, while protecting the rich and corporations from paying more in taxes...in other words showing their true colors to those middle class Americans who vote Republican and giving those voters something to think about!
