Pat Robertson: God says I can drive my Corvette over 100 mph on public roads

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/11/pat-robertson-god-says-i-can-drive-my-corvette-over-100-mph-on-public-roads/

Televangelist Pat Robertson likes to drive fast, and he says that God has given him permission to ignore the speed limit.

On Thursday’s edition of The 700 Club, a viewer asked Robertson if her husband was sinning by driving over the speed limit.

“My husband insists on speeding even when he’s on time,” the viewer named Nora explained in an email. “In the last 2 years, he’s gotten 4 speeding tickets and our insurance has gone up. He doesn't feel that God cares if we speed.”

“You’re asking a guy that had a Corvette with a 430 horsepower engine, who is now driving a car that has about a 650 horsepower engine,” Robertson laughed. “Who also drove 30 laps around the Charlotte Motor Speedway in a stock car.”

“I don’t get tickets, I pay attention,” he continued. “But there was one night up in the mountains, when it wasn't anybody around a four-lane highway late at night, and I did get that little bug up a little over 200 mph.”

“Two hundred!” co-host Terry Meeuwsen exclaimed.

More idiocy at link.

So he knows where and when to speed. I hope those suckers were listening when he described his cars before they send this piece of shit another dime.

for a party. They introduced everyone to us as their Christian friend so and so and introduced us to their friends as their friends. Then they had a discussion about wether going through a red light was violating a moral law as well as a civil law.
Soon after we excused ourselves and left. Several times after I have been at parties where I was the only unaffiliated person. It is difficult when you couldn't care less about what the Christians think is important.

But I was young and stupid - it was scary fast. I can't imagine 200 mph

Six cans of beer and I likely wouldn't have survived the ride. I've never been close to six pack abs (and I'm as far away now as I ever was)

The thought of this clown behind the wheel of any

1. nobody was around
2. nobody got hurt

So why should God care? Because He's a control freak?

The trouble is, at 200 mph, somebody could quickly be around. Moving at 293 feet per second means you will have very little time to react. Somebody easily could get hurt.

Myself, a few times driving late at night, I may have pulled these illegal stunts when I was the only car on the road.

1. Straddling both lanes of the interstate for a few miles.
2. cutting off my headlights and driving by the light of a full moon for maybe a mile

Illegal? yes.

Dangerous or hurting anybody? No.

On the other hand, the MSRP for a new Corvette is $54,000. So really?

God has no power over chariots made of iron.

Judges 1:19
And the LORD was with Judah; and he drove out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

I think maybe a lot of things happen in Pat's own mind. 100mph, 200mph... then there was that night when Jesus took the wheel and they broke the sound barrier together. Sure, why not.
