Youth voter turnout this election slightly increased over the last mid-term election in 2010
"Preliminary exit polls suggested 18- to 29-year-olds made up 13% of the nations midterm electorate. ....In 2010, the 18-to-29 slice of the voter pie was 12%."
"The youth slice of the electorate has remained stuck at the 12 or 13% in all of the past six midterms, other than 2002, when it dipped even lower to 11%."

Another article that discusses how the youth just aren't interested in mid-term elections:
"The lowest interest level in a midterm election came in 2000, when, according to the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, the voter turnout among 18-to-29 year old was 40%. But the truth of the matter is, young voters have never turned out for midterms in impressive numbers."

Apparently there's some type of election coming up and our government professor is mad we didn't know about it.

Edit: As far back as I can remember, people complained about how the young didn't come out to vote. This mid-term isn't any different in that regard then to so many others.
