Woman Says ‘It Was God’s Will’ That 5 Year-Old Boy Accidentally Shot 2-Year-Old Granddaughter

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by uppityperson (a host of the General Discussion forum).

http://aattp.org/woman-says-it-was-gods-will-that-5-year-old-boy-accidentally-shot-2-year-old-granddaughter-video/

A responsible, gun owning Kentucky mom stepped outside, leaving her 5-year-old son alone with his new birthday present — a brand new, shiny loaded .22-cal. rifle — and his 2-year-old sister.

Unfortunately, mom was outside just long enough for her son to fatally shoot his sister, Caroline Sparks, with his new present....

The family, while upset, is happy that little Caroline is in a “better place.”

“It was God’s will. It was her time to go, I guess,” grandmother Linda Riddle told WLEX. “I just know she’s in heaven right now and I know she’s in good hands with the Lord.”

The linked article doesn't mention that it's an old story, but I recognize it as such.

Not that that makes it any less horrible, but no doubt before long there will be somebody coming in to claim that it's dishonest' to bring back prior acts of criminal negligence resulting in gun homicides.

Police say Ohio girl shot by 4-year-old brother
Associated Press • Monday November 3, 2014

LORAIN, Ohio — Police say a 3-year-old girl is in critical condition after being shot in the head by her 4-year-old brother after the boy found a gun in a dresser.

The shooting occurred around 10 a.m. yesterday in Lorain, about 30 miles west of Cleveland. The two children were playing alone in a bedroom when the boy found a loaded .40-caliber handgun.

A police report says the father of the 3-year-old girl was holding her in his arms when officers arrived. The report says the 4-year-old boy was crying and that he repeatedly told an officer he was sorry.

Lorain police Capt. Roger Watkins said the investigation will be turned over to the Lorain County prosecutor’s office to determine if criminal charges will be filed against any of the adults.

More likely scenario is there's no such overseer.

She can't be mad at her grandson, because he is five and it wasn't his fault that he wasn't well educated in how to handle a gun so as not to kill people with it. She can't be mad at her daughter because she was neglegent leaving her son alone with a loaded gun. She can't be mad at God cuz he will send her to hell for that... I wish I could feel sorry for her knowing that, maybe someone else can.
