http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/fla-month-rapes-woman-patrol-car-hood-cops-article-1.1994103A Florida Cop of the Month allegedly raped a woman on the hood of his patrol car while he was on duty, police said.
Boynton Beach police arrested their own Stephen Maiorino Thursday for the alleged incident.
The eight-year force veteran who earned an "Officer of the Month" award in 2010 and appeared on two national TV shows for his all-star cop accomplishments will be fired, Police Chief Jeffrey S. Katz said in a statement.
Police said the 35-year-old cop picked up a woman earlier this month, raped her while holding a gun and threatened to arrest and kill her.
The nightmare started around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 15.
A 20-year-old woman was a passenger in a car, but the driver was arrested for DUI, leaving her stranded, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Maiorino, who was on duty, responded to the scene and said he'd take her to police headquarters so her family could pick her up.

Not joking at the victim's expense. In fact I think whenever LEO's, teachers, or
anyone else in a position of authority betrays that authority with the commission
of a felony they should get a more severe sentence than anyone else if found guilty.

It was rape pure and simple. I think it warrants more than being fired. What about being charged for rape and thrown in Jail ?

(7,637 posts)Excellent. I misread the op it would appear. I do not know why the chief of police felt the need to say he would be fired. Sounds like it would be automatic if he was arrested for felony rape.

(10,252 posts)Someone who could and would do such an evil act, probably has done other stuff that only he knows about. How many other women did he rape? How many burgleries did he do? How much drugs has he stolen. How many innocent people has he framed? How many times did he falsify a police report of purjure himself in court.

Pretty sad to see the city still willing to cut em slack for this heinous of a crime. But considering what else comes from Florida, I can't really say I'm surprised.
