The number one obstacle in fighting the Ebola epidemic has been "panic"

fueled by political opportunism.. Thousands have died, because of fear and lack of funds to help educate people about how the disease actually is transmitted. Politicians and people in general who feed the panic for profit, literally have blood on their hands. I believe that to my very core.

Just read in an other op that the infection rate in Liberia is starting to slow. (edit to add morningfogs op on this subject ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/10025726414 }

This is good news..and hopefully people will begin to understand how this is really spread, so people can protect themselves and not run around with their mouths wide open screaming the sky is falling.. and "who cares"

Media has been complicit in this also.. oh they will stop for 10 minutes on one day and report actual facts.. but by the end of the day they are once again flaming the fires of panic because it is such a profit making venture.. who can get the most people to tune in

It is a sad sad thing.. what we have devolved too in our news media.. sad.. and worse yet in our political system..

This is about human lives..
