animated sign language interpreter at ebola conference steals the show

http://politics.suntimes.com/article/washington/sign-language-interpreter-steals-show-during-de-blasio-speech/fri-10242014-130pm

"I want to repeat what I said last night: There is no cause for alarm," by the doctor's diagnosis Thursday, said Mayor Bill de Blasio, even as officials described Spencer riding the subway, taking a cab, bowling, visiting a coffee shop and eating at a restaurant in the past week. "New Yorkers who have not been exposed to an infected person's bodily fluids are simply not at risk."

During the press conference though, it was the sign language interpreter who stole the show. While sign language interpreters use facial expressions and body language to help convey the dialogue, he takes it to a whole new level.

I have an aunt who is deaf. I only know how to finger-spell and a few other signs, so when we're together she has to improvise. She's a totally uninhibited personality and not shy in the least, so she's come up with some absolutely hilarious gestures to express ideas about sex and drug use, especially combined with the facial expressions.

I barely learned algebra out of boredom and not being able to take my eyes off the ASL interpreters at the front of the room!

Glad some of you find it "LOL funny," but I hope you take an opportunity to learn why they are so animated.

Would posts mocking a spoken language be acceptable here? Or "LOL funny?" Somehow I doubt it, but prove me wrong.

I certainly hope that no DUer would mock a person's language.
