She brought all this on herself. Nobody was wondering how or what she has been up to. Did she expect open arms. She wants another 15 minutes.

This is not about whether you feel sorry for Lewinsky or not. It is about civil rights.
It would seem that hers were abused as yours could be at any time if it serves certain
interests.

One value I assumed all DU's share is the right to protections under our laws and
constitution for al,l even criminals who do things far worse than Monica did. I
only hope you share that view and that it overrides your hatred. That is the point
of laws, isn't it.

Was to say anything other than these three sentences:

"Am I under arrest?"

"So I am free to go?"

"I will say nothing without advice from a lawyer."

I will grant you, it is a bit much to expect the reflexes of a hardened 'moll' from a young woman out of the suburbs not much past twenty, but she, and the country, would be in a lot better shape if that was what she had done.

That entire investigation was so farcical, so absurd and so much as waste of time that I still get a but frustrated by it even in the here and now. And of course even today, the half-wits still gun for Ms. Lewinsky, alleging motives for her they appear to project rather than conclude.

Instead, we were bombarded with lies and blue dresses and 'is' is and dumb investigations

I can't believe how he botched that by not just admitting it and moving on

I can't believe that the GOP finally found something, anything that would stick to the wall. The investigations would have happened with her or without her-- GOP simply would have moved on to the next viable target of irrelevance and sunk their teeth into that one to bring Pres Clinton down.

That was my point. No doubt you're correct the GOP would have spent all their time trying to find something that would stick - look what they've tried to float with Obama - but Clinton's LYING is no one's fault but his own

As if he was a mafia crime boss. He treated every associate as if they were criminals. He said so in front of Congress.
No one called him on it.

(and our misfortune) that the guy he wanted to bring down made it so easy. Clinton knew that the Rs were gunning for him and he took the risks that made it easy for them.
I resent that he enabled them that way because it emboldened the element that believes that republicans are more moral than Democrats.

getting a blowjob is not justification for a 50 million dollar witch hunt. In fact a there is nothing illegal about getting a blow job in the White House.
Starr was appointed because of Whitewater, which was trumped up in the first place.

It's like the birth certificate, or Rev. Wright or Benghazi, all RW spin and horseshit.

hadn't spiked the story Mutt Drudge wouldn't even be a footnote on that page of history. There is only so far a no talent hack with a Fedora and come hither look can go, even on the internet. Once the story went up, Freepers pushed it viral and News Week looked like it was in the tank. News Week is responsible for launching their greatest competitor, the internet, because they wanted to be double plus certain of the facts before going to press. No such code of ethics existed then or now for most so called internet journalists.
