Dinesh D’Souza tells Gohmert’s birthday party: Liberals think our wealth is ‘stolen Nazi art’

Hey Dinesh, it's actually more like "you aren't paying your rent," but if believing we think you're Nazis helps you maintain your martyr self-image, go for it.

“One of the things we need to do is to contest the left on the issue of justice,” he said. “They allege that the wealth of America is based on theft, and it’s the right of the government to come and seize your wealth, and my wealth because that wealth is stolen goods.”

“And they have an elaborate historical and contemporary argument to prove it. In effect, what they’re saying is that your stuff that’s in your house — your TV, your couch, your savings accounts, your kids’ college account — that’s sort of like Nazi stolen art. It belongs to somebody else.”

D’Souza argued that the “operating emotion of modern liberalism” was envy, and it was being used to turn the working class against wealthy Americans.

“Ultimately what Obama and the progressives are doing is waging war against the wealth creators,” he opined. “They’re also, by the way, waging a more secretive war against Christianity. So, they’re attacking both the core principles of America.”

I've got an old friend who I tussle with occasionally on Facebook. He says shit like that too. But I don't take him the least bit seriously, because he's a lunatic. Sounds like Dinesh is quite the lunatic as well.

Do you think he believes this stuff? Or is it just demagoguery to stir up and sell crap to the lunatics, like my old friend?

They've all long since passed the point where they really need to accumulate more money, but they continue to do it. They passed the threshold a while back where all of their martyred-job-creator-randian-ubermenchen rhetoric starts to become self defeating. It generates much more unwanted attention and resentment than it helps their cause. But instead of keeping their mouths shut (which would allow them to continue getting rich), they're just getting louder and more obnoxious.

Most really do believe it. Greed is not self-regulating. There is a class of people that honestly believes, down to the marrow of their bones, that they are entitled to own the world and everyone in it.

This attitude towards life and the rest of the world did not wind up ending will for the French or Russian aristocracies.

...whether his audience does.

As long they eat that sort of thing up, he'll keep saying that sort of thing.
