Does Anyone Feel Like I Do - That We'e One Gunshot & Death Of A Black Protester From Riots All Over.

this country? If a scared Cop or National Guard personnel gets rattled and inadvertently starts shooting and a protester in the streets of Ferguson is shot and killed - I really believe that this could precipitate riots in black communities all over this country.

These cops need to draw down and leave. They are aggravating the situation and leading with their chin almost just daring the protesters to get violent. It's almost like this is what they want to happen - to incite riots all over this country.

Does anyone know if the guns that the cops and the national guard are carrying are only loaded with rubber bullets or is there live ammunition there as well?

All these people want are some answers and some action. I agree with another poster here on DU. Arrest Wilson and fire the police chief and that would go a long way to quell the protests and potential violence. The protesters are only asking the authorities to be fair.

he fears how it might end. He means every night it's the same pattern, but nothing gets resolved. In that situation some not good people could shoot someone just to see chaos overtake everyone -- and that could ignite other cities. The issue is country wide so why wouldn't it?

Isn't what's going on in Ferguson an attack on all of us?

And a good number of Occupiers are "white" folks. So yeah, race undoubtedly plays a significant role, but it isn't the only thing, not by far.

That is a fact of life in America. Those people have been treated like shit by cops for years. You and I haven't. Our experiences are not the same. You see it via television. They live it.

just stopped to talk to me about quitting smoking, even. I don't get that feeling in my diverse neighborhood, nor is it coming out from black Chicago friends on facebook or other feeds.

Deployment can mean all the armory you say, and in Ferguson alone.

So, no. I wouldn't say all over the country. It's a really, really big country. And I don't think you should feel that blacks are a hair trigger away from revolt.

I'm ready to revolt myself. This country is going to hell in a hand basket. And we all just set around watching it happen.

And I haven't noticed anything on the streets, though I'm sure many are concerned about Ferguson, no doubt.

they can kill you if they hit you wrong. They were initially made to by the Brits to be fired at Irish protestors and the design was for them to bounce off the pavement and hit the Irish in the legs. Israel changed the design to the steel ball.

they may cause bone fractures, injuries to internal organs, or death. In a study of injuries in 90 patients injured by rubber bullets, one died, 17 suffered permanent disabilities or deformities and 41 required hospital treatment after being fired upon with rubber bullets
...
The intended use is to fire at the ground so that the round bounces up and hits the target on the legs, causing pain but not injury.[12] From 1970 to 1975, about 55,000 rubber bullets were fired by the British Army in Northern Ireland. Often they were fired directly at people from close range, which resulted in three people being killed and many more badly injured.

But not one of them will be. And, that's what's wrong with this country. The mentality behind that kind of BS machismo. Disgusting.
