Here's a very informative letter to the editor to counter "war on Coal" charges

against Obama and coal country Democrats.

The link: http://www.kentucky.com/2014/08/14/3380692/letters-to-editor-aug-15.html?sp=/99/349/595/

Title of comment: No 'war on coal' in industry woes

Sample:

"General Electric recently announced improved combined cycle natural gas power plants that are 61 percent efficient in turning heat energy into electrical energy.

Combined cycle power plants first burn natural gas in a jet engine-like turbine, then make steam from the exhaust.

Coal plants average 34 percent efficiency, although Germany built a 45.8 percent efficient coal plant."

I support any and all wars on coal and fossil fuels in general.

Nice. You do know, don't you, that natural gas is a fossil fuel?

It isn't politicians that are waging a "war on coal" it is competition from natural gas.

War on Poverty, War on Drugs, War on Terror (fear), War on Christianity, War on Coal. Give me a damned break.

Talk to me about war only when military, coffins, lost limbs, a life of PTSD, displaced families, mourning families, burned villages, etc. are involved.
