I heard yesterday from a staunch Republican that

President Obama was going to cancel the 2016 election and remain in office. I tried to explain that such a thing was impossible to do, but to no effect. Does anyone know who's spreading this nonsense this time? I've heard it before, every time a Democrat is President, but don't know who is saying so now.

Republicans are a complete failure. They have no ideas, no solutions, nothing good for America. Their only mission is to destroy the country and profit handsomely.

It will get worse the closer the election gets, so hold onto your hat. Even worse for 2016.

It just makes me sick to see this country go so far downhill regarding elections. They have been ruined by the SCOTUS' decision regarding campaign donations (and, most everything else, of late), and the poison of the Koch bros. is so ingrained in their giant spider web of organizations/think tanks, the Tea Party and anything else they touch that it will take decades to clean up the horrible mess they've caused. I won't live long enough to see it happen, but I hope there are enough sensible/sane people, they'll make it happen.

I was looking at some photos of the militia along the Texas border. My God, they looked like they were out of the Middle East.

It could have come from anywhere, but probably from the fevered brain of one of the fringier hate-radio loons. I think you should make a bet with him - tell him you'll pay him $100 (or some other amount) on November 9, 2016 if there was no presidential election on the 8th. See if he bites.

Because if elections are canceled, martial law and civil war would happen, so the right-wing nut wouldn't worry about collecting his $100, he'd have bigger things to be concerned about.

I googled "Glenn Beck 2016 elections"

so I think we are back to a nebulous unknown source that all too many idiots are repeating in the hopes that panic sets in and a 2nd Amendment remedy is encouraged....I honestly think this is the end game for such statements.

These types of statements are not without the historical, histrionic mass responses. Remember when it was touted Obama was going to take everyone's guns? remember how the sale of firearems and bullets went through the roof? Fear mongering gives the story teller a sense of power. In their impotent rage, it's all they have.
