They looked just like the people in that picture.

"Many" . . . . not all. Maybe not even the majority. But many.

Why would you see hostile intent in asking someone to corroborate their assertion -- unless of course you can't. But great way of dismissing me without actually answering the question. But, that would require actually backing up you assertion. Got your MO.

I'll up your swell day and leave with bless your heart.

But, I am almost 62, and I just became a citizen BECAUSE I want to vote for the President in November. I have been a permanent resident alien (fully legal, able to work, paying taxes, raising a Marine. . .) and didn't have much reason to go through naturalization EXCEPT for the fact that I couldn't vote, and I wanted to vote for the President in November.

Don't count the "old, white people" out! There are some of us who are just as excited and willing to work hard to get President Obama re-elected.

who wouldn't be caught dead in a repug's campaign office. I'm an angry old white person who is hosting about 6-8 Obama organizers in her home this coming Wednesday. I'm an angry old white person who will do anything to keep President Obama in the oval office. I'm an angry old white person who carries voter registration forms in her brief case. I'm an angry old white person who detests angry old white people who vote repug.

This past Monday my mom turned 82. I was in Washington DC until Tuesday, so I didn't hear about this exchange she had with her very very best friend of 76 years (they met in lst grade). The friend grew up like my mother the daughter of a Polish immigrant, the friend's father owned his own corner store & my grandfather & grandmother worked numerous jobs. They both grew up catholic. Mom & friend attended the same high school & their classmate was Derrick Bell (Harvard Law Professor).

The friend called my Mom on her birthday & the friend for whatever reasons began a diatribe against the President and began calling Professor Bell a racist (if Mom would use the computer, she would be posting on DU). Mom was unable to get a word in during this rant, but finally was able to say, that she disagreed with her friend on these issues, and that she, like her husband (Dad's been dead for 12 years) did not discuss politics or religion with friends. Mom was still upset about this conversation on Tuesday. I'm an angry old white person who doesn't like angry old white people upsetting her Mom on her birthday.

When I saw the picture I just thought of how most of the brave ows crowd is young. Obama isn't doing anything to protect them from the police though. It's disappointing to me. The same type of people are helping him with his campaign.

Kennedy had to federalize the National Guard to get involved in the civil rights movement. What do you think Obama ordering out the troops to protect OWS would have done to help the movement or anything else politically?

I noticed that too. Wonder where the picture was taken. It could be somewhere in Montana, Utah, Wyoming or the Dakotas. That would explain it.
