UPDATE: I found a way to stop Tater from jumping on the teevee. Tater & I are having a real spat.

Last edited Wed Jul 9, 2014, 06:03 AM - Edit history (1)

Tater has decided that jumping on top of my HD teevee & tightroping back and forth is the most fun ever.
I tried just getting her down. Ha!

Then I put tape that is sticky on both sides across the top. Cats aren't supposed to like this. Tater loves it. She glories in walking on it and smelling it.

So I went to plan C. I got a sheet of poster paper and taped it across the top. There's no access to the small flat part on top. Well, she is now insistent on attacking the tape and the poster.

Any plan Ds?

Edit:
I got a gel called "Fooey." It contains extracts from plants with nasty tastes that aren't harmful to animals.
I wish I could have gotten a picture of Tater's face when she tasted it. She still tests the areas every now and then to see if it's still nasty. That is one stubborn kitteh.
(It comes in a spray too.)

That's a good idea though. I can try that and/or Bitter Apple that has a nasty taste.
I've had stubborn cats but Tater is in a class by herself.

Collaring house plants with foil often keeps the cats at bay

At least 3.
The noise will correct the jumping problem.

I had a very smart black cat that loved to jump onto kitchen counters.
One bout with the traps worked.
and no, he was not "snapped"...he just set off a bunch at once when he landed and scattered the traps.

My little feral is now using the litter box. I've stopped bottle feeding him since his real mother finally showed up. It's very hot and he does drink water from the bottle. I'll take him to the vet next week and then give him away.

The tv was the problem I really had to get fixed because of the possible damage and injury(probably to me, the tv,and not Tater).
It also gives me something that will stop her if other things come up. However, that's until she adapts to the taste which I hope is never.
