...instead of wasting time arguing over who is a "real" Democrat/progressive/liberal, and who is more committed or principled or pragmatic or what have you than the other?
Problem: Republicans are poised to gain in Congress, and the threat of them taking the Senate is very real.
Solution: Vote for Democrats across the board, at all levels of government. Encourage everyone you know to vote Dem, and everyone they know to vote Dem, and so on..., no matter how "red" or "blue" or "purple" your state and/or district is.
Organize. Agitate. Speak out. Stand up. Don't shut up. Vote.
And just to leave you with this:
Why are there ANY Republicans in office, after all that has happened? It's not because the American public is stupid, in the aggregate. We elected Obama twice, after all.
I'm confident that we can do this. No, it won't be easy by any means, but who said it was supposed to be easy?

(10,893 posts)have to worry much about many people on DU sitting out an election. Most of the people who don't vote probably have zero interest in politics and aren't on here.

(13,685 posts)Some don't vote. Some don't even know how to vote.
Older Dems on this board know how and who to vote for. We have always done at least that. But kids these day.... how do we educate them to vote?

(16,149 posts)That would certainly go a ways in explaining the Democrats seemingly never-ending "concern" for all things "bi-partisan" (regardless of whatever term the DEMS use to describe their constant capitulation to the GOP).

(6,934 posts)I assure you however, if she is the candidate in 2016, she will have my vote and my support.
I challenge anyone to provide a Republican for whom you could vote. If you do not support and vote for that Democrat in any election, you might as well be a Republican. Since Republicans have allowed Tea Party idiots to remain in their party, as far as I am concerned they need to be stopped.

(12,495 posts)That said, I will only engage in productive discussion regarding our Democratic Candidates...criticism without malice essentially.
