(16,423 posts)Only a moderate would have a shot at attracting enough votes for a national win. There are no republican moderates left, either because they got ousted or because they sold out and pandered to the teabaggers.
If the republicans field a Teabagger, they will lose.
If the republicans field an establishment/Big Money-supported moderate, saying moderate stuff teabaggers don't like, they will split the republican vote.

(32,712 posts)we should relax and enjoy the rw memes because the republicans don't have a viable candidate? Somehow I don't feel comforted. I won't feel safe until a democrat wins the GE in 2016.

Don't act as if you don't know that the bus was chartered by the Ready for Hillary PAC, not Hillary herself.
As for the photoshopped version of the original photo. Why don't you go peddle that bullshit on a RW site.
Is this site supposed to be for Democrats or only for those Democrats who meet some people's approval?
Unbelievable......

(30,481 posts)I cannot for the life of me understand how you like Barack. I would think you would hate him with a greater passion than you hate Hillary. In reality, they are like two peas in a pod. Hillary with a little more fight. You must drip hatred of Barack with some of the gaffs he has made. Pretty messed up standard you have. Extremely inconsistent.

(30,481 posts)I try to read all of your posts because they often contain great information I don't see during my daily news grabs. While you and I don't see eye to eye on every issue(we do on most), I never understood how one could passionately support Obama yet hate Hillary. Both of them are very corporate friendly. Both have evolved into better people when it comes to civil rights. I could go on but I know you are very politically aware and see the direction I am going. Posters like this just leave me shaking my head.

(14,549 posts)Here's a hint: it worked on Romney because it is true -- he IS an out of touch billionaire with dancing horses and magic underwear who is tone deaf to his own nonsense.
But it won't work on Hillary Clinton. No matter how many lines are quoted and spun out of context, Hillary Clinton is a known quantity and most have made up their mind on her. She didn't outsource jobs or use vulture capital tactics on KB Toys, etc. The (Bill) Clinton presidency was a huge success with a surplus and near full employment.
In 2 years, when the GOP narrows it's 25 happy idiots down to Mitt Romney (again) Hillary will spank him and send him home.

(24,096 posts)Unions Press Clinton on Outsourcing Of U.S. Jobs
By John Solomon and Matthew Mosk
Washington Post Staff Writers
Saturday, September 8, 2007
When Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton flew to New Delhi to meet with Indian business leaders in 2005, she offered a blunt assessment of the loss of American jobs across the Pacific. "There is no way to legislate against reality," she declared. "Outsourcing will continue. . . . We are not against all outsourcing; we are not in favor of putting up fences."
Two years later, as a Democratic presidential hopeful, Clinton struck a different tone when she told students in New Hampshire that she hated "seeing U.S. telemarketing jobs done in remote locations far, far from our shores."
The two speeches delivered continents apart highlight the delicate balance the senator from New York, a dedicated free-trader, is seeking to maintain as she courts two competing constituencies: wealthy Indian immigrants who have pledged to donate and raise as much as $5 million for her 2008 campaign and powerful American labor unions that are crucial to any Democratic primary victory.
Despite aggressive courtship by Democratic candidates, major unions such as the AFL-CIO, the Teamsters and the Service Employees International Union have withheld their endorsements as they scrutinize the candidates' records and solicit views on a variety of issues.
High on the agenda of union officials is an explanation of how each candidate will try to stem the loss of U.S. jobs, including large numbers in the service and technology sectors that are being taken over by cheap labor in India. During the vetting, some union leaders have found Clinton's record troubling.

(24,096 posts)and actually this one isn't as kind as Solomon's. Is the LA times okay for you? If not, go ahead and knock yourself out googling more articles on the same subject - tons of it out there.
Clinton's free-trade advocacy is hitting labor where it lives
But less noticed was how the event signaled that Clinton, who portrays herself as a fighter for American workers, had aligned herself with Indian American business leaders and Indian companies feared by the labor movement.
Now, as Clinton runs for president, that signal is echoing loudly.
Clinton is successfully wooing wealthy Indian Americans, many of them business leaders with close ties to their native country and an interest in protecting outsourcing laws and expanding access to worker visas. Her campaign has held three fundraisers in the Indian American community recently, one of which raised close to $3 million, its sponsor told an Indian news organization.
But in Buffalo, the fruits of the Tata deal have been hard to find. The company, which called the arrangement Clinton's "brainchild," says "about 10" employees work here. Tata says most of the new employees were hired from around Buffalo. It declines to say whether any of the new jobs are held by foreigners, who make up 90% of Tata's 10,000-employee workforce in the United States.
As for the research deal with the state university that Clinton announced, school administrators say that three attempts to win government grants with Tata for health-oriented research were unsuccessful and that no projects are imminent.

(24,096 posts)Just because both Hillary and the President are Democrats is not enough for me. They are very, very different people contrary to what many say.
I believe and trust in Obama, much to manys chagrin here on DU. I get beat up on that a lot, being a dreadful Bogger and all.
I believe he has true integrity and strength and core beliefs that fit with what I think a leader should have. He rarely fails at getting his message across because he doesn't have to cover up lies and misspeaks from his past - and if he does change his mind or make an error he will take responsibility and not try to blame someone else. That is how a mature adult who is entrusted to lead should be.
I don't think the Clintons are any of those things. They manipulate, confabulate and lie too comfortably.
That about covers it.

(24,096 posts)All the nasty stuff like Glass Steagal and what it is doing to people's lives, and that awful error in bombing Sudan on the Pharma factory because he wanted attention away from Lewinsky in court that week (fuck him to hell for that) and couldn't wait for proper approval from the Joint Chiefs or intel. Bah, there is so much more but why go on, it's all been said here (well, not all) many times as to why Clinton isn't the prom king too many think he is.
I don't believe President Obama is capable of any of that maliciousness and selfishness.
There is Keystone to worry about and the TPP trade deal, there is a lot to worry about. I sure hope Keystone gets dumped (because it's a Clinton baby for one thing, second to just being a lousy idea and if it's tamped down it will be such a wonderful slap on the face to all those rich fucks that think they own the world). I hope Obama does the right thing and vetoes if it comes to that, but if he doesn't I will have to accept that his world and decisions are a lot more complicated than mine.

(30,481 posts)I have heard that before. Are you trying to see how many rw memes you can post. That is as clear of a rw meme as it gets. Rush wants his meme back, although he does appreciate your borrowing it for awhile. And you think that Keystone is fucked up, unless Obama pushes it. Then it is just a complicated matter. This thought process is painful to read.
