by TomP
John Gruber is a heath care expert from MIT who advised Romney in the creation of the Massachusetts Plan (Romneycare) and was involved with the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). In an interview today with the Washington Monthly, he said out loud what the tradmed has concealed as much as it could:
I think, Harold, the single thing we probably need to keep the most focus on is the tragedy of the lack of Medicaid expansions. I know youve written about this. You know about this, but I think we cannot talk enough about the absolute tragedy thats taken place. Really, a life-costing tragedy has taken place in America as a result of that Supreme Court decision. You know, half the states in America are denying their poorest citizens health insurance paid for by the federal government.

They are not just not interested in covering poor people, they are willing to sacrifice billions of dollars of injections into their economy in order to punish poor people. It really is just almost awesome in its evilness.
Washington Monthly
It's simple right and wrong, good and evil. Those who cause the deaths and pain of others by rejecting the medicaid expansion (and money for it) are EVIL. No other word for it. Clergy of all kinds (and all ethical people whether religious or non-religious) should condemn these evildoers.
Name the evil ones. Show the consequences of their evil. Force America to see.

Evil, all of them are evil.
I don't know what to think about the people that elect and support these GOP fools.

(16,926 posts)Idaho - people think of this as a republican stronghold, and it is, on Election Day. But it is primarily a Libertarian/Anarchist stronghold with no more tolerance of the disadvantaged than of liberals, wolves or Mexicans. The Governor has made his disdain for all four unmistakable, and his refusal of Medicaid expansion is par for the course.
I have lost my job recently and am going to bail on this miserable state if I can locate anything where the politicians and public aren't out of their flippin' minds.

(60,536 posts)I'm sorry to read of your tough time. I hope it works out well for you, on all fronts.
I've read about Idaho and its' politics, nothing good...and then Mark Furman retired there. Ugh.

(16,926 posts)It's the idiots who waste taxpayer dollars on commissions to wipe out wolves, make it illegal to videotape animal abuse at dairy farms, legalize guns on campus despite the objections of the presidents of all of those institutions, and the voters who have made their jobs secure simply by having an 'R' next to their name. Sickening.
I've been here for 45 years and I'm ready for the Blue State life.

(14,971 posts)arrested on the grounds of their state legislatures over this. I also just saw a PPP poll on the Georgia governorship and the Dem is ahead. Shitty policies have consequences. Special shout out to the NAACP for their Moral Monday and Truthful Tuesday protests! They're really energizing people and getting them civically engaged.

wish they could suffer like the woman who died of treatable heart disease in Florida,( she couldnt afford treatment, made to much money for medicaid) there are not enough swear words in all languages to describe anyone who would allow this to happen.
