(7,699 posts)He came to York Pa to stir us up for Obama in the 2008 primary, and I was asked to introduce him on CSPAN
the night before. He was tickled pink because in our short conversation before I introduced him, I told him that
my parents had voted for his brother for President. I could just see the flames of love for John light up. It
was very touching.
Before I could speak to him, they brought me back to where he was waiting. He had his back turned to me for
what seemed like an eternity, and it was extremely clear to me that he was very ill.
I miss the Kennedys.

(24,721 posts)My hat's off to both of them.
Ted Kennedy's passion was working toward making health care a right, not a privilege. Obama made it a reality. The ACA may not be perfect, but it's a giant step in the right direction. We can only wonder how much better the ACA could have been if Kennedy had still been in the Senate pushing for the best deal for the 99%. He was the epitome of what a senator should be. (As is Elizabeth Warren, I have to add.)
