‘League of the South’ official: Teaching evolution is ‘an act of disloyalty to America’
By David Edwards - RawStory
Thursday, March 20, 2014 16:45 EDT

<snip>

Michael Peroutka, a Maryland-based lawyer who was the Constitution Party’s candidate for president in 2004, says that Americans cannot believe in evolution if they truly love their country.

In 2011 video uncovered by Right Wing Watch on Thursday, the co-founder of the Institute on the Constitution asserts that “evolutionary thinking is dangerous and anti-American.”

“American political philosophy is based on the belief that the world was created by God in six days, and that this creation event occurred about 6,000 years ago,” he explains, adding that news reports describing the Earth as millions of years old were either ignorant or “anti-American.”

“What I’m saying is that the promotion of evolution is an act of disloyalty to America… What I’m saying is there’s no way you can support or believe evolution and sing ‘God Bless America’ during the 7th inning stretch!”

As the Constitution Party nominee in 2004, Peroutka ran as the “the home-school candidate.” In 2013, he was elected League of the South Board of Directors, which the Southern Poverty Law Center has listed as a neo-Confederate hate group since 2000.

And this guy is leading the repub primary in Georgia

It may seem insane to rational people, but we have to face facts that a lot of the people who turn out and vote are not rational. Especially in midterms.

but we very rarely use this sort of stuff in the ads. So only people who follow on line knows these guys and ladies are NUTS. No one points it out because they have to be polite or whatever. I say if the opponent is a nut, people should know about it. And it needs to be said clearly...The guy/lady is a NUT.

salvation itself.

Ignorance is something they are PROUD of.

These fools affirm their bigotry and hatred, so they will vote for them. Thanks to voter suppression tactics and the destruction of public education, these people's numbers are GROWING.

Worse, the "leaders" of "our" party feel they must change their policies to satisfy these people to garner their vote. Since our "leaders" do not suffer the effects of the policies they help enact, they are perfectly willing to hurt us, hurt the Republic and even hurt civilization.

And who are actually part of the Republican party not some fringe lunatics.

The seat of Max Baucus. A Democrat from Montanta. His seat is open, and it looks like a landslide for the Republican Daines right now.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2014/senate/mt/montana_senate_daines_vs_walsh-4190.html

Colorado, Senator Udall is up for re-election, and is leading, 42 to 40. That means that we have to get at least eight more percent to safely win the seat, while the Rethugs need only convince ten percent that the incumbant sucks. Turnout will probably be the deciding factor, and the Rethugs are fired up for turnout.

Michigan, Land V. Peters. We're winning, but not by enough to call the race won. Again, we have 42% in the polls, and this is before the race even gets started well. Nobody is really spending any money on ads and all that yet.

Rethugs lead by a small bit, not enough for a sure win yet, in Louisiana. Many of the Purple states are like that, with Democrats losing in early polling. GOTV is going to be monumentally important. So what are we doing? Highlighting a guy who isn't a Republican and ran for office in 2004 under a third party that got a fraction of a percent of the vote as a result.

is right. If this ass was running for office, we could win easily. But we're not that lucky. Just remember to act surprised in November when we lose the Senate.
