Now I, personally, don't believe in any kind of god or gods, so the whole thing is just pointless mumbo-jumbo to me. But in effect, those who DO believe in God, when they pray for a specific outcome, are in effect telling God that his "divine plan" sucks, and they think that since they know better than God, that God should do their bidding and scrap His own plans.
