That's right, where we take time out for this special, once in a lifetime moment, the very last day/month/year sequential date of the century. The likes of which will not be seen again until your great-great grandkids' time.
Take some time out to post what you're doing, or just your thoughts at this special time for posterity. Spread some joy and laughter with your fellow DUers. Your entire life had led up to this moment, so use it well.
Last month we had the 12 December 2013 thread for those of you who go by the less accurate mm/dd/yy method. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024019112
Didn't have a lot of input there, so clearly, everyone is saving up for now... This is a thread for the more proper dd/mm/yy date. This is the place where we're havin' all of the fun.
The celebration will begin in the Eastern Time Zone and will sweep across our great nation for every subsequent hour, until it reaches parts out West.
So it's time to party, everyone... All virtual drinks are on the house. So slap a lampshade on your head and boogie down in your boogie shoes. These are special times upon us.

(26,001 posts)I thought it was to clear the carton from the fridge, but clearly, at a more intuitive level, I knew I was celebrating!

(3,922 posts)What's this day/month/year thing? It's confusing. It makes it look like it's November 12, 2013.

(101,411 posts)Hours should be the other side of days from months.
And I'm patriotically obliged to point out that such celebrations should use GMT ...
On reflection, we have to use hh:mm:ss, so we ought to be using yy/mm/dd, ie always decreasing in size from left to right, so:
13/12/11 10:09:08.
Ideally by the 24 hour clock, but there's still time for anyone from Central Europe west to mark:
13/12/11 10:09:08 pm
