Please, stop with all this counterproductive, divisive generational blaming.
I'm not your enemy, and you're not my enemy.
Don't get distracted, or misled.
It's all of us, you and me, the 99%, against the 1%.
It's simple.

(273 posts)I love reading stories about how very very rich folks are upset that even richer folks have more status.
I saw a story a while back about how upset some guy was after putting up $1M to his kid's elementary school that he hadn't donated enough to even make it on the board.
Or the new rich upset that the old rich didn't want their kind in the yacht clubs or country clubs, so they were making better ones.
Even the 2% doesn't understand they're closer to us than the 1%.

We are the 99% and we will not let the 1% splinter us, which is exactly what they're set on doing!

(23,156 posts)The stay at home moms are not the enemy of the moms with jobs. They're just two different ways to deal with that part of life.
If you're a Millennial or a Boomer or whatever, it's just an accident of when you were born. The different generations are not enemies.
Oh, and by the way, if you get a chance, read the book Generations by William Strauss and Neil Howe. It has totally transformed my thinking about the entire generational thing. Don't be put off by the fact it came out in 1993. It's the most amazing analysis of how generations are different, and how they behave. Really, read it.

You're an American? How could you vote for George Bush? Why are you so materialistic? Why did you invade Iraq?
I have more in common with my grandfather than my sister.

(28,552 posts).... the entire pie for the 99% has been shrunk and it is affecting everyone except the 1%.
And the only reason this continues is that we keep electing people who put monied interests's goals ahead of everyone elses, and it will stop when and only when we stop doing that.

(24,692 posts)a table when a plate with a dozen cookies arrives. Before anyone else can make a move, the CEO reaches out to rake in eleven of the cookies. When the other three look at him in surprise, the CEO locks eyes with the tea party member. "You better watch them," the executive says with a nod toward the union worker and the immigrant. "They want a piece of your cookie."
For this OP it would be:
A 1%er is sitting at a table with a millenial, a boomer and a genXer. When a dozen cookies arrive, the 1%er grabs 11 of them. When the other three look at him in surprise, the CEO locks eyes with the millenial. "You better watch them," the executive says with a nod toward the boomer and genXer. "They want a piece of your cookie."

(84,711 posts)manipulate us. It's to turn people against each other with labels rather than address the Real Reasons why there are no jobs and the Policies that allowed this to happen. The Policies that the People were unaware of.
I am surprised so many DU'ers would not see this tactic for what it is. Liberals usually shy away and disapprove of labels and stereotypes. Yet it seems some fall into the MSM's psychological manipulation of us by the Think Tanks and Message "Massagers" selling their propaganda to divide us.
