On that Alexendra Pelosi spot on Mississippi in Maher. THIS is why the GOP hates education.

Mississippi is the GOP's blueprint for America. They want us all poor, all the wealth going to the 1%, and the way to make that happen is to ensure that the majority of the population is uneducated, ignorant and stupid, so that they can continuously manipulate us using characters like Sarah Palin.

In a twisted way, these right-wing poor Republicans are very principled. They believe what they believe very sincerely, and they're passionate enough that they openly sacrifice their own self-interests in voting for GOP douchebags. They're screwing themselves, but they think they're doing it out of morals and principles.

And this is where the GOP is able to lead them around by the nose. As long as they can place themselves as authoritarian alpha dogs for them, and dictate their principles to them, they'll follow. Get them to think for themselves, and they'll realize how they're being screwed.

Why can't we get better schools? The Repubs don't want us in better schools. They want indoctrination centers, not schools. They don't want a population capable of thinking for themselves and realizing the ways they're being fucked. George Carlin was right.

They want a population that's like poor Mississippi as Alexandra Pelosi filmed, but for the entire country.

My jaw is still on the floor.

Especially the guy who will still vote repub because it could work. She points out that it hasn't worked for him. "But it could!"

and these individuals are not typical of the ones I knew. You may disagree with their politics, but they are articulate and smart in many areas (except biology, astromony, geology etc when it comes to Young Earth which is more of a delusion). You can find uneducated people anywhere.

I frankly think it was a setup.

And not because there's anything wrong with "conservatism."
