And for some of us, LOCAL ELECTIONS. So if you do not mind, you need to get your priorities in order. We have ZERO candidates who have actually declared. As far as we can tell, ONE (CHRISTIE) who has actually told us he has clear intent, like in a speech just the other day. He did launch a campaign.

(51,666 posts)She's done with local political posting. She's been told it's unwanted here.
I don't blame her. I've been told my support for LGBT issues isn't wanted, so I no longer openly support LGBTs here.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)This thread is a good example of why. We have bullies on the prowl. Funny how none participated in the Incognito threads. Actually not surprising at all.
Now back to my fiction, enough wasting of my time here.
by the way. I am not surprised they told you LGBT are personna non grata either.
Oh and I should add, I feel pity for those who have such a fixation with what I post or when I post it. These people have a sick fixation, and you know what? IT IS THEIR FRACKING HELLISH SICK PROBLEM. They are indeed sick.

(4,631 posts)Perhaps it is sometimes better to continue sharing and let those with personal issues find their own way to deal with it. I do understand where you are coming from however. If you post it, there will always be those that appreciate it. Just know I am one who enjoys reading local stories here.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)or to be more precise, 4th grade.
We are facing adults with behaviors fit for school bullies, who are being enabled in their behavior. There is nothing I can do about it. To be truthful there is nothing you can do about it either. Their patterns are set, but at this point I need to think about two things:
1.- Mental health: I am fully aware of the damage they do, with every snipe, every attack. They truly do not know, or care what they do. Empathy is not in their toolset.
2.- Personal safety: At this point I fear they would go into physical aggression if they could.
So I no longer post here, for the most part. And when I do, I expect them to do exactly what they are doing right now on this thread. Yes, they are that predictable. Hell, at times they even claim they are the victims, which is also part of the pattern.
They are serial bullies and micro aggressors.
http://www.bullyonline.org/workbully/serial.htm
I told you where to go get that material. I continue to post, just not here, and continue to work in the local media. The bullies, they cannot post their aggressions where I do. I hold the key.
So outside of very specific things that happen locally (which they will also attack, they did last week, which is predictable) such as Amber Alerts, I don't post here much.
This, well 2014 matters a lot. Local elections matter to me far more than Presidential elections, but that is me... but 2014 is that critical. I am annoyed at the perception management even before the primaries for 2014 are even done. That is crazy, in ways that are hard to explain.
So that is the way it. The fact that something like this is relentlessly attacked indicates the depth of their issues, not mine.

(13,877 posts)I truly don't understand. I don't have anyone in my temporary Red State to get behind, even with my political emotional support, after 50 years on the West Coast. And even if I did, I still have internet time to discuss political matters.
If we don't discuss national politics, why not just go to the State boards here? Being, supporting, watching, amusing over...whatever...of Democrats is what I thought this site was about. I just noticed, it does say Politics 2013, but is that a rule?
My posting history is really liberal, and I'll admit I can't express my thoughts or responses to a couple of sentences. Maybe that's my problem? But then again, I'm pretty new here.
Also, when does it start being OK to discuss or encourage a candidate to run or just get more information? Some thread starters here are right on top of all the left-leaning online sites and I really appreciate that. It means that someone, somewhere has decided this is important enough to write a national column about, and it might interest me, too...or not.
If I needed a billion dollars to run a race, leave behind a career (Governor, Senator, Congressman, hedge-fund guy, stay-at-home mom) with minimal, at best, family time, I'd definitely want to know a few kindly, well-heeled type with political influence in high places had my back.

pintobean

(13,877 posts)elections in lieu of saving it for the nationals? Like the DNC or RNC? or a "wing" like Tea Party or Progressive? Both of these examples would seem to be somewhat national and not pegged to an individual state/local candidate who may not even be announced yet? These are assumptions, not based on my own knowledge.
To me the Booker/Lonegan and the Christie/Buono situations were starkly instructive. Apparently, someone on both sides knew where to put and not put the money.
I'd always supposed that the donor pool would fund different types and the pitch would be entirely different. Don't the national organizations require some amount of local political and financial support as a validation of a candidate's viability and then give funds?
And my final question...back to the national scene...how does anyone get to one billion dollars in a worst case scenario, as typically they need a strong campaigner, candidate, with all the other myriad of pre-requisites?
I don't see what advocating for Hillary, inasmuch as I'm not a handler, or any candidate has to do with who is the local judge or Governor in North Dakota or Maine, or California for that matter...at this point in time.
I'm just getting back into it, however, and willing to learn.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)Who tend to be extremely wealthy, and ask their also extremely wealthy friends to donate to people they think they can control. To get a billion bucks (and it will be more) you need a few Adelsons, He is a good example of what I speak off.
This is one reason we need to get money, desperately mind you, out of politics. What we have right now is the best Congress, and Presidency (sometimes city hall) money can buy. This is why they are not responsive to the needs of the people.
Do yourself a favor and look up just how wealthy your local delegation to Congress is, for example. They are not running for the pay, trust me on that one, at least not most of them.
I get it why bundlers, whether they work for Christie, Clinton, Warren, or somebody we have not heard from yet, but they have, need to create the illusion of inevitability. That does not mean I need to agree with it. In my mind the system is sick, and needs reforms if we will have it work for you and me.
This is not a popular thought here, so if I do any more discussions on this, will not be here.

It's a lot why I stopped political participation ... Nixon, The War, ad nauseum ... other than voting. We hung him in effigy at his own alma mater. Maybe it's because I think it's high time for a woman president, perhaps it's just that now I'm retired, I have more time on my hands and hate TV? Anyway, I appreciate your knowledge and willingness to participate in your local community.
