Female Journalist Attacked By Limbaugh Responds: He ‘Just Doesn’t Think Women Count’

Female Journalist Attacked By Limbaugh Responds: He ‘Just Doesn’t Think Women Count’
By Annie-Rose Strasser on Mar 7, 2012 at 11:00 am

Tracie McMillan

Having offered a quasi-apology for his sexist smears against Sandra Fluke, hate radio host Rush Limbaugh has moved on to another female target: investigative journalist Tracie McMillan, who wrote a book on the American food system called The American Way of Eating. Ripping into McMillan yesterday on his radio show, Limbaugh mused, “What is it with all of these young, single, white women, overeducated — doesn’t mean intelligent.”

McMillan is now pushing back against Rush’s continuing campaign of hate against prominent female progressive advocates. In an interview with the Atlantic Wire published today, McMillan said she thought Limbaugh was attacking her solely for her being a woman:

“It’s been really interesting to have somebody be that openly dismissive of my work strictly based on the fact that I’m female,” McMillan told The Atlantic Wire. “There’s no other way to think about it except that Rush Limbaugh just doesn’t think women count.” McMillan went on to explain how her book approaches some difficult issues about the food that feeds America and the conditions for the workers that produce it, however Limbaugh didn’t seem willing to engage in that debate. Instead, he focused on her being a woman.

3. Everyone still uses bland language to describe Rush.

Tell it like it is: he is embarrassingly naive. I think that would have a greater impact on his poor little ego.

5. Hmmm! Slow learner or trying to act like the outrage isn't stopping him?

Wouldn't he be something to be living with at this point in time? Bad enough on a normal day, but I'll bet he is fuming, bouncing up and down in his chair, waving his arms and generally stinking up the room with his mouth.

I'm out of popcorn! In fact, I should buy stock in Redenbacher. Me thinks this is The Year of the Popcorn!

9. I just got to thinking about Rush's obvious hatred against educated women.

So I 'wikipedia-ed" him. This explains a lot:

Limbaugh began his career in radio as a teenager in 1967 in his hometown of Cape Girardeau, using the name Rusty Sharpe.[4][6] Limbaugh graduated from Cape Girardeau, Missouri Central High School, in 1969. Because of his parents' desire to see him attend college, he enrolled in Southeast Missouri State University but left the school after two semesters and one summer. According to his mother, "he flunked everything", and "he just didn't seem interested in anything except radio."[4][7]

Limbaugh was not drafted during the Vietnam War draft lottery, as his birth date's high rank (152) was well above the 125 rank below which service members were drafted. He was classified as "1-Y" (later reclassified "4-F&quot due to a Pilonidal cyst.[4][8]

SO-o, Rush most certainly disappointed his mother....ummm....OTOH, didn't he say that S. Fluke was a disappointment, or should be, to her parents! He didn't complete his post secondary education and he was classified 4-F for possibly sitting too much! I had to wiki Pilonidal cyst!

His targets seem to embody accomplishments he didn't attain....ummm....food for thought. Maybe I shouldn't be adding fuel to the fire but I think Rush is a sick pup and should seek help while at the same time leave the airways to spare us his spew.

couldn't get close to. As he's become an old fart he's just hardened in his resentment towards women in general .... especially if they are intelligent and commit the crime of showing it.

Sure, there are still lots of cavemen cheering him on, but he's also educating a lot of guys - guys who like women and, someday, may want to have a relationship with a decent, normal woman.
