Working late I listened to Romney speak just now and it reminded me of an age old joke
In a third world country a candidate for highest office is giving a speech to the voters:
"If you elect me, there will be two chickens in every pot"
The crowd roars loudly: "OOMgowa"
"if you elect me, there will be a cart in front of every hut"
again, more excitedly the crowd yells " OOMgowa"
"Elect me and your troubles will be over, your children will be fed, your aged ones will be cared for"
OOMgowa -OOMgowa" the crowd cheers ever more excitedly.
As the Elders lead the candidate down from the podium, the Senior Elder pulls on the man's sleeve, points to the floor, and says: "Please be careful not to step in the OOMgowa"

As I listened to Romney's trashing of our President and his lame assed promises, I was more struck by the crowd cheering him with abandon than any of the rest of the boring spectacle.
Who are these people buying this crap and where are the Elders clearing the street and allowing a little truth to come through?
Then I remembered: That must be our job.

They can't reveal their super duper, top secret plans to fix the economy, create jobs and lower gas prices because that evil Kenyan, Socialist, Communist, Alinsky disciple would just steal them.
They'll turn their empty promises into action the second they win the pResidency, just like Raygun, Bush I* and Bush II* did.
