Kasich to Ohio, 'Drop Dead'

I love the juxtaposition of photo and title in this Cincinnati Enquirer piece. There a picture of total devastation in Moscow, Ohio from a tornado that touched down there yesterday, and that is paired with a Kasich turns down federal disaster aid headline. It couldn't make it clearer that Ohio's governor is a simple-minded demagogue who puts his ideology over any concern for his citizens.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich said thanks but no thanks to immediate federal disaster relief Saturday, even as governors in Indiana and Kentucky welcomed the help.

Kasich did not rule out asking for assistance later, but his decision means tornado-ravaged towns in Ohio will not get federal aid now and are not eligible at this time for potentially millions of dollars in payments and loans.

The governor said Ohio can respond to the crisis without federal help and he would not ask federal authorities to declare the region a disaster area.

“I believe that we can handle this,” Kasich said while visiting a shelter for storm victims at New Richmond High School. “We’ll have down here all the assets of the state.”

I sense they are told that Obama is the problem, some way, some how...and they swallow it up...then kiss Kasich's ring.

2. So, he's going to provide the SAME amount of funds that the federal govt. could?

If so, then that's laudable. Someone TRULY standing up for "state's rights".

A penny less and he's a hypocrite and an idealogue of the worst stripe.

And what does Ohio gain from this, other than building Kreepy Kaisch's "conservative cred"? We had an attourney general like that, now Senator Ayotte (NH), who spent a good part of her time as AG here figuring out how to turn her office to political advantage. Said office missed a $50M Ponzi scheme, run by a minister's son from an office next to the church, and now we have a lousy con-bot senator - who represents us poorly, if at all.

11. The people affected by the storm(s) won't be able to vote.

When they try to cast a ballot, they will be challenged by an up-and-comming republican ass-kisser. Since their home was destroyed they don't live at that address anymore, therefore they are not allowed to vote.

12. Recall? Dereliction of his sworn duty to the citizens?

This POS Kasich is playing with and disregarding the lives of the citizens of his state to make a political point. That makes him unfit to govern at the least, despite what the law says he can or cannot do.
There must be a way to get rid of him or at least make him politically pay dearly for this outrage.

These bastards need to start being held fully accountable for what they do.

13. Just wait until Kasich brings in the Central Bankers and tries to make working people pay ....

Just like Greece... Kasich will bring in his buddies at the Central Bank and make the working poor face austerity and tax increases to pay for the Republican abuses.

Privitize the profits... socialize the costs. Same 'ol....
