It's not in the Mother Jones story.

"Opposition to the recall has come mostly from one source—the Virginia-based National Rifle Association."

It must've been in the cut and paste I did this morning -- and been missed by at least one MoJo editor as well as me.

Pueblo reported many more Democrats than Republicans in the early voting; and "in-state" donations (e.g. ignoring out-of-state money like the NRA or Bloomberg) totaled $1.5 million for the Democrats, versus $147,000 against them. All told it's about $3 million for the Democrats vs. $500,000 for the Republicans per the Denver Post.

7. It was not so much a gloat as it was a statement of fact.

It also was not a statement about partisan politics. The gun control laws passed in Colorago will have little impact on crime. However, the laws did have an impact on the make up of the Colorado legislature.

When the magazine ban was passed. Not so much gloating over the result.
